Eight individuals, each renowned for their presence in reality television and social media, are drawn into a daring and ominous new reality show hosted by a CGI panda named Furcas. Among them are Kasper Nordin (Valter Skarsgård), a reality star, Lonni Byrne (Khamisa Wilsher), a bride-to-be, Cat Zim (Amanda Howells), a skilled chess master and martial artist, Ula La More (Karolina Benefield), an Instagram influencer, Nevin Evensmith (Dayleigh Nelson), a Youtuber, Dex ‘El Shocker’ Souza (Mathias Retamal), a singer, James ‘Headstone’ Malone (Christopher Gerard), a TV personality, and Ximena Torres (Gigi Saul Guerrero), a blogger. This insidious game requires them to vote for their favorite contestants while enduring 24/7 surveillance.
However, unbeknownst to them, the mastermind behind the show is Nero Alexander (Jerome Velinsky), a wealthy sociopath who delights in orchestrating heinous acts for his entertainment. The stakes are alarmingly dire; the penalty games they face are not merely for fun but entail life-threatening challenges. As the contestants engage in the game, they remain blissfully unaware of the grim truths beneath the surface, although hints of danger flicker ominously.
In a horrifying twist during their first penalty game, Lonni is blindfolded and instructed to strike a “piñata,” unaware that it is, in fact, Nevin who is gagged inside. With tragic consequences, she inadvertently bludgeons him to death. The aftermath of the first casualty ignites controversy and speculation in the media: is this show a chilling reality or an elaborate hoax? As the drama unfolds, Dex attempts to escape only to face a gruesome fate in an acid container.
As the competition progresses, each day brings brutal challenges resulting in further losses. In a harrowing duel, Ula is forced to confront Ximena, resulting in Ximena’s demise and Ula’s subsequent execution in the next challenge. Alliance and romance blossom between Kasper and Lonni, intensifying as the FBI races against time to uncover the show’s location. The contestants endure harrowing trials, pushing them to their moral limits and revealing the depths of their distress.
In an unexpected twist, Headstone meets his end while Kasper and Lonni grapple with their feelings amidst chaos. Yet, their passionate moments are overshadowed by the grim reality of the competition. Cat Zim struggles with her own inadequacies, ultimately facing a chess game against Furcas where she loses, leading her into a harrowing punishment cycle.
The FBI, tracking down the show’s frequency, stumbles upon a horrific sight—a container of severed heads. In a final standoff, Kasper and Lonni share a poignant kiss before turning their guns on themselves, leaving Cat as the last contestant standing. Emerging as the sole survivor, she is celebrated for her victory but also caught in the chilling grip of the events.
Cat escapes to freedom, only to confront authorities who question her about the massacre. After the FBI raids the site, it becomes clear that Cat is entangled in a web of treachery. In a shocking revelation, she visits Nero’s home and hints at her involvement in the deadly game, suggesting she was always the intended sole victor as she declares her intent to defeat him at chess “next time.”
