Frosty the Snowman

The magician Professor Hinkle is hired to perform at a school's Christmas Eve party, but his act goes embarrassingly wrong. In his anger, he blames the hat and tosses it away. The fiasco foreshadows a magical mishap that will drive the rest of the story.

Outside the school, the children build a snowman named Frosty. The hat lands on Frosty's head and brings him to life. Hinkle soon discovers the hat's magic and sees a chance to become rich.

Hinkle tries to reclaim the magical hat, but Hocus Pocus, the rebellious rabbit, swaps it with a wreath and returns the hat to the children. Frosty is revived once the hat is placed on his head. The children realize the hat's power now belongs to them.

As the temperature rises, Frosty fears melting and the children decide to send him to the North Pole by train. They believe the cold will preserve him long enough for a Christmas miracle. The plan sets the stage for a cross-country journey.

The kids march through town toward the train station, drawing surprised looks from passersby including a traffic cop. Frosty, Hocus, and Karen slip away toward the freight line to begin the journey. The mood is a mix of excitement and urgency.

With no tickets, Frosty, Hocus, and Karen secretly board a freight train's refrigerated car. Hinkle tracks them by riding on the bottom of the caboose, determined to reclaim the hat and his chance at wealth. The journey heads north into colder air.

On the northbound ride, Karen begins to suffer from hypothermia. The train stops to let a passenger train pass, giving the group a chance to disembark and search for warmth. Hinkle continues to pursue them.

Frosty and Hocus struggle to carry Karen through the forest as night falls. They ask the forest animals to build a campfire for warmth, and the animals manage to light one. Frosty, hoping for a miracle, decides to search for Santa Claus to save Karen and take them to the North Pole.

Hinkle arrives and extinguishes the campfire, driving Karen and Frosty to flee into a greenhouse. He locks the door, trapping them inside. Tension rises as Hocus and Santa draw closer to the greenhouse.

By the time Hocus and Santa arrive, Frosty has melted. Santa consoles Karen and explains that Frosty is made of magical Christmas snow who will return each winter. A gust of magical snow swirls into the greenhouse to remake Frosty.

Santa tells Hinkle he will never receive another present unless Frosty can have the hat, so Hinkle agrees to write apologies and promises redemption. He dashes off to comply, hoping for a new hat as his eventual reward. Karen and Frosty wait for the next turn of events.

Santa revives Frosty, drops Karen home, and takes Frosty to the North Pole. Frosty leads a town parade with Hocus, the narrator, the traffic cop, and the redeemed Hinkle with his new hat. The parade ends with Frosty boarding Santa's sleigh, promising to return, and the final note changes the song to 'I'll be back on Christmas Day'.
