Fright Night

Charley Brewster is an average teenager living with his divorced mother in a suburban township. His life takes a turn when he becomes curious about his new neighbors who seem to be hiding dark secrets.

Charley observes the new neighbors moving in next door and notices them carrying a coffin. His curiosity leads him to spy on them, which sets off a series of terrifying events.

The next day at school, Charley sees a news report about a murder victim found by police, supposedly the work of a serial killer. This report heightens Charley's concern about his neighbors.

While spying on the neighbors, Charley sees Jerry Dandridge attacking a young girl. He is terrified but struggles to convince others, including his mother, that something is wrong.

Charley gathers the courage to call the police about his suspicions. However, when they investigate, they find nothing suspicious, and Charley is dismissed as having an overactive imagination.

Suspecting Dandridge is a vampire, Charley consults his friend Evil Ed for advice. Ed informs him about vampire traits and weaknesses, arming Charley with knowledge for the impending danger.

Charley's worst fears become reality when Dandridge enters his home uninvited, having charmed Charley's mother. This breach of safety solidifies Charley's belief that Dandridge is a vampire.

After confronting Dandridge, Charley is attacked and nearly killed. Dandridge reveals his true vampire form and threatens Charley, leaving him desperate for help.

Charley seeks out Peter Vincent, a supposed vampire hunter. However, Vincent brushes off Charley's claims, viewing them as a product of a young mind influenced by horror films.

Accompanied by Vincent, Charley confronts Dandridge, but initially, Vincent is unconvinced. However, when he notices Dandridge casting no reflection, panic ensues, leading to their hasty retreat.

While Charley and Amy escape, Evil Ed meets Dandridge and is transformed into a vampire. His attack on Vincent testifies to the real danger they are all in.

At a nightclub, Dandridge captures Amy, using her resemblance to his lost love to enchant her. A tense showdown ensues, but Dandridge escapes with Amy, raising the stakes for Charley.

Charley and Vincent prepare to confront Dandridge at his house armed with newly acquired knowledge. Tensions rise as they discover Amy has been turned into a half-vampire.

In a final confrontation, Charley and Vincent face Dandridge with their faith-tested against the vampire's might. They manage to expose Dandridge to sunlight, leading to his spectacular demise.

The film concludes with Charley and Amy watching a horror movie together, but contentment is fleeting as Charley sees a glimpse of red eyes from the now vacant Dandridge house, leaving the audience in suspense.
