Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove

Kirra Grisby is sent to stay with her grandfather Gus Grisby at his run-down Cape Town amusement park after her father is hospitalized. At the airport she is met by Gus's loyal employee Mansa and soon befriends a local boy, Sifiso, setting the stage for a summer of upheaval and discovery.

A fierce storm reconfigures the coast and a male orca calf becomes separated from its pod, winding up stranded in a lagoon on Gus Grisby's property. Kirra discovers the creature and names him Willy, instantly turning the whale into the park's newest and most talked-about attraction.

Willy's growing popularity draws visitors and media attention, shifting the park’s fortunes in unexpected ways. Kirra's bond with Willy deepens as they share the lagoon and the spotlight, making the whale the heart of Pirates Cove.

Gus's fiercest competitor, Rolf Woods, learns of Willy and offers $500,000 for the whale, though the deal never fully materializes. The looming sale creates intense pressure on Gus and threatens Willy's future in the park.
