Four Lions

A group of young Muslim men from Britain, led by Omar, becomes radicalized and decides to pursue a path towards becoming suicide bombers. They are driven by their strong opposition to Western society and its imperialistic policies, which Omar articulates passionately.

Omar is married to Sofia and has a young son, living a seemingly normal life as a security guard. Despite his external life, he is deeply influenced by anti-Western sentiments that push him toward terrorism.

In a bid to remain off security agencies' radars, Barry suggests an outrageous plan to swallow SIM cards to evade tracking. Omar swiftly dismisses this idea, noting that it simply wouldn't work as the cards could still be traced.

Omar decides to travel to Pakistan for rigorous training to solidify their bombing plot. He refuses to take Barry along, considering him a liability, and restrains him with jumper cables to assert control before leaving.

In Pakistan, Omar and Waj attend a terrorist training camp. They bring along a new recruit, Hassan, whom Barry forcefully includes, despite his hesitance. Their training proceeds but is plagued by complications.

A catastrophic incident occurs when Waj accidentally carries a mobile phone into the camp. Omar misfires a rocket, causing casualties among their fellow trainees. This incident unexpectedly enhances Omar's reputation upon their return to Britain.

Omar and Waj return to Britain, concocting a false story about special training in Somalia. Omar feels burdened by Barry's reckless inclusion of Hassan, who is overly eager to document their every move.

The group begins collecting materials to create improvised explosive devices, although they clash over their intended target. Barry's suggestion to attack a mosque is met with strong opposition from Omar, who fears it contradicts their mission.

Faisal, displaying a lack of understanding of their plans, naïvely believes he can train crows to deliver explosives. His comedic yet tragic attempts come to nothing, highlighting the absurdity of the group's motives.

During a test of their explosives, they are interrupted by Alice, an oblivious neighbor who wanders into their lair. This unintentional interruption leads to paranoia within the group, forcing them to relocate haphazardly.

Their operation takes a turn when Faisal's clumsiness results in an accidental explosion, leading to a crisis within the group. This incident prompts internal conflict, causing them to temporarily disband.

After some reconciliation, Omar reorients the group's aim towards targeting the upcoming London Marathon. The group decides to disguise themselves to blend in while planning their operation.

In a bizarre twist, the group dons outrageous costumes that include a Honey Monster and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. They proceed despite growing moral doubts, particularly from Waj, who grapples with the ethics of their plan.

As their plot unfolds, Hassan tries to alert the police but becomes ensnared in the ensuing chaos. Barry accidentally detonates his bomb, leading to disastrous outcomes for both Hassan and the law enforcement present.

In the aftermath of the chaos, Omar realizes the consequences of his manipulation over Waj, leading to a moment of reckoning. The story culminates in absurd tragedy, illustrating the unintended fallout of their radical decisions.
