Evil Dead Burn

Will crashes because he drives away in a drunken rage after his argument with Alice. During the fight, Alice tells him to go to Hell, and he speeds off in anger. His car collides with Jessica (who is a Deadite) and flips into a ditch, catching fire. Before dying, Jessica taunts him that the Deadites are now hunting his family, confirming the curse has targeted the Price lineage.

Edgar becomes infected at Will's funeral. When Edgar stays alone with Will's coffin to say goodbye, Deadite Will knocks from inside the casket and emerges fully possessed. Will seizes Edgar and infects him with the Deadite curse, passing the possession from son to father.

Alice discovers Benjamin's occult research in the attic and begins reading the dark incantation to summon the Deadites, apparently seeking answers or power. She stops at the final words, saying "fuck this," which suggests she recognized the danger but was already too late, the ritual had begun.

The Kandarian Dagger is described in Benjamin's notes as the only weapon capable of truly severing a Deadite from a human body. When Alice stabs Joseph with the dagger, it frees his soul from the Deadite possession, though he dies soon after from the trauma of having his soul ripped away.

Thya becomes possessed after arriving at the Price home during the Deadite outbreak. She arrives drenched in red (presumably blood) and attacks the family, indicating the curse has spread to her through unknown contact, likely through Joseph or the increasing proximity to the Necronomicon's influence.

Polly, the grandmother with dementia, becomes a Deadite during Thya's assault on the house. Her weakened mental state and vulnerability make her susceptible to possession. Her transformation shocks Susan, who had hoped her mother might regain lucidity rather than be consumed by the curse.

Joseph dies because the dagger releases his soul from the Deadite possession, but the process is too traumatic for his body to survive. While the dagger successfully banishes the Deadite spirit and frees his soul, the physical toll of the possession and sudden removal proves fatal.

Susan and Edgar become trapped inside the house as Alice spreads fuel and ignites it. Both are now fully possessed by Deadites, and the flames consume them as they fail to escape. Their deaths represent the final destruction of the corrupted Price family members.

Polly, having survived the house fire, crawls away from the wreckage and encounters a passing driver. She feigns injury to get closer, then scratches the driver's leg with her Deadite-infected blood, passing the curse to another victim.

The post-credits scene reveals that Ellie's Deadite spirit was trapped in the crematorium urn. When the manager's daughter touches it, Ellie possesses her and kills the girl, declaring "Mommy’s back." This confirms Ellie Bixler was a previous Deadite victim and her curse continues beyond death.

The Deadites are hunting the Price family because of their grandfather Benjamin's work with the Necronomicon. Joseph discovers that Benjamin used the unholy incantations to summon Deadites across generations. The curse is hereditary, the family name is literally bound to the demonic entities.

Alice defeats Deadite Will by using the Kandarian Dagger and a jackhammer. She drives the dagger into Will and uses the jackhammer to push him back into the hot tar pit, permanently destroying him. This allows her to escape as emergency services arrive.
