Evil Dead Burn

The film opens with Joseph Price, [Hunter Doohan], a young man poring over recordings and documents left by his grandfather, exploring the lore of the Necronomicon and how many have summoned the Deadites by reciting the unholy incantations. The air of mystery thickens as he pieces together a history of horror that looms over his family, a history that promises that some names and passages should stay buried.

At a nearby lake, Jared and Leo, Keanu and Victory Ndukwe, go fishing for a quiet moment away from the city’s noise. When Leo steps aside to take a phone call, the water’s surface seems to tremble with an unseen pull. Jared hauls in something grotesque—a partially decomposed head—before the hooks snap back, dragging across Jared’s face and pulling him under. Leo returns to rescue him, only to find Jared’s face grotesquely mutilated. A Deadite, Jessica, Greta van den Brink, surfaces from the lake, flips the boat, and boils Leo alive in the water. Leo crawls to shore but the skin sloughs from his bones as he dies in a horrifying send-off to the night.

Nearby, Joseph is celebrating his birthday at a nightclub with his girlfriend Thya, [Luciane Buchanan], his brother Will, [George Pullar], and Will’s wife Alice, [Souheila Yacoub]. The gathering exposes a painful rift: Will’s verbal and physical abuse toward Alice is met with her blunt defiance, and she finally tells him to go to Hell. In a drunken rage, Will speeds away in his car, slamming into Jessica and tipping into a ditch. The car catches fire, and Will perishes as Jessica taunts that the Deadites are now hunting his family.

At Will’s funeral, the Price family—parents Edgar Price, [Erroll Shand], and Susan, [Tandi Wright], along with their dementia-stricken grandmother Polly, [Maude Davey]—gathers with heavy hearts and old resentments simmering beneath polite surface. Susan tries to keep a veneer of civility toward Alice, even as the undercurrents of judgment and pain flow beneath the surface. The cremator, Mike, [Tapiwa Soropa], prepares to place Will’s body into the chamber, but Edgar asks for one last moment with his son. Alone, Edgar hears knocks from inside the casket. Will, now fully Deadite, emerges and seizes Edgar, infecting him. Mike’s entry is interrupted when Will tears him apart, sealing a terrifying turn for the family.

Back at the Price home, Benjamin’s attic holds a trove of occult oddities and writings. Joseph’s curiosity meets Susan’s caution—she warns that their grandfather was not a good man. The curse takes hold as Alice uncovers Benjamin’s work on the Necronomicon and starts reading the dark incantation that could summon the Deadites. She stops at the final words, muttering, “fuck this.” A Deadite-possessed Max crashes through the window, forcing Alice back inside as the horror moves closer to the core of the family.

Deadite Thya arrives, drenching the house in red, and the family is forced to barricade themselves in a room. Edgar returns with Max, but the terror escalates as he shoots himself in a desperate act. Thya bursts out, leaving a trail of blood and fear as she targets Polly, who is gradually pulled into the nightmare. Joseph, now in danger of becoming a Deadite himself, stabs at Thya, but his initial strike does not stop her. Polly, meanwhile, has become a conduit for the infection and a weapon in the unfolding battle. The struggle becomes a brutal melee with the family fighting to survive against the possessed.

In the attic, Alice discovers the Kandarian Dagger—the key to truly severing a Deadite from a human body—described in Benjamin’s notes. She fights to reach it, while Susan and Edgar chase her, both driven by fear and a desire to protect the family, even as Susan’s Deadite side resurfaces. Joseph is pulled into the fray, but Alice finally locates the dagger and uses it to free Joseph, saving his soul even as he dies. The house erupts into chaos as Susan and Edgar are consumed by the flames they helped unleash with their fear and rage, while Polly, now fully Deadite, roams the burning structure with a violent, hollow purpose.

With the house in ruin, the remains of the Price family collapse into the nightmare’s final act. Deadite Will emerges from the flames and pursues Alice to a nearby construction site, where the tar and heat threaten to swallow her whole. A desperate confrontation ensues in which Alice wields the Kandarian Dagger and a jackhammer, driving the Deadite WIll back into the tar and ending his threat. Her escape from the site is punctuated by the arrival of law enforcement and medical personnel, and when asked who harmed her, she simply answers, “My ex-husband,” a quiet, defiant line that seals her survival and the grim conclusion of the family’s ordeal.

Mid-Credits Scene: Polly, still alive, crawls away from the wreckage and encounters a driver. She feigns injury, but her true bite is revealed as she scratches the driver’s leg and infects them with the Deadite curse, a grim reminder that the danger lingers.

Post-Credits Scene: In a final, chilling twist, the crematorium manager brings his daughter to see an urn. The girl touches it and sees Ellie Bixler’s reflection before Ellie’s Deadite form erupts and violently takes the girl’s life, whispering a final, ominous line: “Mommy’s back.”
