Alone in the Dark

A man known as Preacher is seen entering Mom's Diner on a cold, wintry evening. He places his usual order but is met with an unappetizing fish platter, which triggers a chaotic dream sequence in which he finds himself bound and threatened by Leo Bain.

Preacher screams awake in his bed, revealing that his terrifying experience was merely a nightmare. He is now in the gloomy surroundings of an insane asylum, marking the beginning of his unsettling journey.

Dr. Dan Potter arrives at the hospital to meet Dr. Leo Bain, who surprisingly greets him with an enthusiastic hug. This encounter sets the tone for the peculiar and unsettling environment of the asylum.

At his home, Dr. Dan is shown unpacking alongside his wife Nell and their young daughter Lyla. This scene highlights Dan's attempt to balance his family life with his professional responsibilities at the asylum.
