End of the Road

Brenda, portrayed by Queen Latifah, decides to embark on a cross-country road trip with her two children, Cam and Kelly, following the heartbreaking loss of her husband. This journey is aimed at seeking a fresh start and healing the emotional wounds of their recent tragedy.

As the family travels, they encounter two racist thugs, prompting Cam to defiantly give them the middle finger. This incident results in a humiliating confrontation for Brenda and her children, highlighting the challenges they face in a divided society.

During their road trip, Brenda and her family stop at a motel where they hear gunshots coming from a neighboring room. Concerned for the safety of those inside, Brenda and her brother Reggie decide to investigate the source of the commotion.

Brenda discovers a critically injured man named Harvey Ruck in the room they investigate. As a trained nurse, she attempts to save his life while Reggie disapprovingly finds a bag of cash in the bathroom, leading to unexpected consequences for the family.
