Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone

Almost five years after his defeat by Goku at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, Piccolo Jr. trains alone when a group of mysterious warriors ambushes him. The attack signals a resurgence of danger that will pull Earth into a new confrontation. Piccolo steels himself as the threat begins to unfold.

Chi-Chi, Ox King, and Gohan are attacked by the same group that ambushed Piccolo. They invade the family home while Goku is away fishing. The assailants search for the Dragon Ball attached to Gohan's hat and threaten the family, triggering their defense.

Goku senses the danger and returns to Earth to confront the attackers. He discovers that his son Gohan has been abducted by Garlic Jr.'s forces. This revelation sets the rescue mission in motion.

Garlic Jr. is revealed as the mastermind behind the assault and he aims to retrieve the Dragon Ball attached to Gohan's hat. He abducts Gohan to manipulate his power and proceeds to assemble the other Dragon Balls. The plan is to use the Dragon Balls to achieve immortality.

Garlic Jr. gathers the remaining Dragon Balls and calls forth Shenron. He uses the wish to become immortal and gains a stronger, muscular form. The Earth's defenders prepare for a confrontation with an undead threat.

Kami, Earth's Guardian, arrives to explain the feud between Garlic Jr.'s father and the Guardian role. He recounts that Garlic unleashed a demonic horde in the past and was defeated by Kami. This history foreshadows the danger Garlic Jr. now presents.

Goku begins to search for Gohan while Kami battles Garlic Jr.'s henchmen. The struggle escalates as more forces arrive, testing the defenders' resolve. The rescue attempt is set in motion.

Krillin and Piccolo arrive to aid the struggling defenders. Piccolo defeats the henchman Sansho, while Goku takes down Ginger and Nicky. Their teamwork strengthens the front against Garlic Jr.
