Diary of a Chambermaid

In the waning summer of the late 1920s, a sprawling provincial estate in France becomes the stage for a quiet, uneasy drama. Célestine, a striking young woman from Paris, arrives as a chambermaid, drawn by the promise of steady work and the allure of the countryside. She is assigned to the eccentric M. Monteil and his family, a household that clings to old‑world rituals while the world outside leans toward modernity.
