DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock

Months after the battle that killed Easy Company's squad, Sgt. Rock wakes up in a field hospital. He is recovering from his injuries sustained during the fierce battle and begins to regain his strength. This sets the stage for his subsequent mission involving the Nazi scientist.

Sgt. Rock is tasked by Lt. Matthew Shrieve to capture a female German Nazi scientist. The mission involves the top secret Creature Commandos, an elite group with supernatural members, to assist in the covert operation. This marks the beginning of the mission into the Nazi stronghold.

The Creature Commandos infiltrate the castle quietly, aiming to locate the Nazi scientist and her assistant. They navigate through the fortress, aware of the dangers lurking inside, and eventually find their targets. The mission's tension escalates as they prepare for confrontation.

The team is ambushed by Sgt. Rock's archenemy, the Iron Major, who unexpectedly intercepts them at the castle. The ambush reveals a dangerous foreshadowing of the conflict to come. The scientists activate a switch to a generator linked to a doomsday weapon as chaos erupts.

Taylor destroys the generator powering the doomsday weapon, causing the chamber doors to burst open. This releases the undead squad members, who are revived as reanimated soldiers, intensifying the chaos within the castle. The team fights to contain the situation.

The undead chamber was meant to revive Bulldozer, a powerful ally of Sgt. Rock, who is now turned into an undead monster. Despite efforts by Griffith and Velcoro, Bulldozer proves difficult to kill and nearly overpowers the team. The squad must act quickly to stop him.

Using his Thompson submachine gun, Sgt. Rock manages to kill Bulldozer, ending the threat posed by his undead form. The victory is bittersweet as the chaos in the lab worsens, prompting a decisive move to end the danger.

As flames engulf the laboratory, Iron Major and the scientists attempt to escape. Recognizing their intentions, Rock and the Creature Commandos move to corner and confront them. The burning castle symbolizes the destruction of the Nazi's dark experiments.

The Iron Major gloats, claiming Rock will not shoot them due to orders to take them alive—orders that would have allowed the Nazis to create an army of the dead. Recognizing the threat, Rock orders the Commandos to kill the Major and the scientists and burn their research.

The team destroys the remaining evidence of the Nazi weapon and research by burning the castle down. This decisive action stops the Nazi plans and prevents the creation of an army of undead soldiers in the future. They exit the burning fortress with their mission complete.

Outside the scorched remains of the castle, Sgt. Rock addresses the Creature Commandos, criticizing Lt. Shrieve for withholding information. He vows to ensure that the team is never again deployed in such a reckless manner and promises to keep their mission secret.

As they move away from the burning castle, Sgt. Rock takes a moment to reflect, knowing he has given his team a proper 'cremation' in accordance with their sacrifices. His leadership emphasizes the solemnity and gravity of their dangerous work, ending the mission on a note of solemn resolve.
