Darkness Falls

In 1827, a burgeoning community began to form around a bay, marking the early days of what would become Darkness Falls. Among the new inhabitants were newlyweds Sonny and Matilda Dixon, whose lives would dramatically shape the town's future.

As the town grew, local businesses and farms flourished due to a thriving fishing industry. This prosperity brought joy and hope to the residents, laying the groundwork for a close-knit community, but it would not last.

In 1836, a tragic accident claimed the life of Sonny Dixon, leaving Matilda devastated and alone. Her sorrow transformed her into a figure of comfort for the town's children, who adored her as she rewarded them for their lost teeth.

Following her husband's death, Matilda became a beloved figure known as the 'Tooth Fairy.' She enchanted children with stories and would shower them with gifts for their lost teeth, earning their affection and trust.

After a horrific fire disfigured Matilda, she became extremely sensitive to light. To navigate her new existence, she fashioned a mask made from teeth and only ventured into the world under the cover of darkness.

The peace of Darkness Falls was shattered when two young boys went missing one night. In a grave mistake, the townspeople accused Matilda of their disappearance, culminating in her wrongful apprehension and execution.

After Matilda was hanged unjustly, the missing boys returned unharmed, revealing the grave error made by the town. To cover up their mistake, the townsfolk buried Matilda's body in secrecy, haunted by guilt and fear.

In 1842, ominous occurrences began, including the mysterious disappearance of marine life along East Beach. The town was plagued by unnatural storms, and the two boys involved vanished again, leaving a haunting suicide note.

As time passed, a chilling pattern emerged in Darkness Falls: children began to vanish without a trace. Rumors spread, and some speculated it was connected to the dark legacy of the Tooth Fairy's curse.

In an unsettling twist of fate, young Kyle Walsh confronted the haunting folklore when he lost his last baby tooth. Paralyzed by fear, he resorted to sleeping with a flashlight, a precaution that would soon be put to the test.

That fateful night, Matilda's chilling breath awakened Kyle from his slumber. Face-to-face with the vengeful spirit, he instinctively shone his flashlight in her eyes, a desperate attempt to fend her off.

After Kyle sought refuge with his mother, she tragically fell victim to Matilda's wrath. Blamed for the incident, Kyle became trapped in a spiral of fear and guilt, haunted by the specter that had taken so much from him.

Growing up, Kyle escaped the dark tales of Darkness Falls for the bright lights of Las Vegas. Yet, he always kept a flashlight close, burdened by the persistent fear that Matilda might one day return to claim him.

Years later, Kyle was drawn back to his hometown when his old friend Caitlin Greene sought help for her brother, Michael. Michael was tormented by the same fears that plagued Kyle during his childhood, revealing the curse had not yet ended.

As a storm engulfed Darkness Falls, Kyle faced Matilda in a final, harrowing confrontation at the lighthouse. With courage, he managed to unmask her, revealing her scars and igniting the lantern's light upon her, finally breaking the curse.
