Daag: The Fire

Former Indian soldier Karan Singh learns that his father, Satya Prakash Singh, was jailed on false charges. The prosecution was fueled by a canny lawyer, Ravi Verma, with support from Singhal. Disturbed by the injustice, Karan vows to clear his father’s name and to expose those responsible.

Karan quietly gathers information and formulates a plan to challenge Ravi Verma’s corrupt tactics. He aims to collect evidence that can prove his father’s innocence. The plan centers around staying beneath the radar while building a case that could topple the powerful lawyer.

During a party attended by Kajal and Ravi, Karan confronts him and opens fire. Kajal throws herself in front of Ravi to shield him from the shot, sacrificing herself. Ravi survives but is left reeling from the betrayal and sudden tragedy.

To help restore Ravi's memory, Singhal hires Kajri, a street woman who bears a striking resemblance to Kajal, to pretend to be Ravi's wife temporarily. Kajri steps into the hospital’s social world, playing a critical role in reviving Ravi's attachment to Kajal's memory. The ruse buys time for the truth to surface.

Even as Ravi regains some memory, Karan stalks him in the hospital and plans another attempt to kill him. He believes eliminating Ravi will avenge his father. The pursuit showcases Karan's unwavering resolve to finish what he started.

Kajri's presence as Kajal’s look-alike helps jog Ravi's memory about the truth and the injustice done to Satya. The dynamic of Kajri as wife and memory catalyst begins to alter Ravi’s stance. The hospital drama deepens as memory returns in fragments.

With memories restored, Ravi begins to sympathize with Karan and promises to prove Satya Prakash Singh’s innocence once he recovers fully. He realizes the real perpetrator was the system that allowed wrongful prosecution. The partnership between Ravi and Karan shifts toward exonerating Satya.
