Curfew

Ray and Bob Perkins escape from a California prison and head back to town to exact revenge on the district attorney who sentenced them. They begin by terrorizing a psychologist who evaluated them and killing him. They then ambush a passing driver, kill him, and steal his car.

Ray and Bob break into Judge Collins's house and bludgeon him and his wife to death with a gavel. The murders show the brothers’ willingness to target anyone connected to the defendant's case. The town's safety is shattered as the night of terror spreads.

Stephanie Davenport returns home to meet her 10:00 p.m. curfew and hopes for a quiet evening. Inside, she discovers Mrs. Alva, the babysitter, dead in the guest room, mistaking her for sleeping. The discovery marks the start of the home invasion.

Ray and Bob confront Stephanie upstairs, forcing her to flee through the house. She runs to the neighboring Collins home and finds that the Collins couple has been killed. The sight confirms the threat is closer than she realized.

Stephanie escapes the Collins house and hitches a ride with an elderly man. On the road, Ray and Bob force the driver's car off the road and beat him when he exits. Stephanie manages to seize the wheel and drive off toward safety, heading for a nearby diner.

Stephanie reaches a diner and pleads for help, but is escorted back by Sam, a young police officer. They return to the Davenport home, where Megan and Walter appear intact to the untrained eye, though danger lurks inside. Sam prematurely assumes Stephanie is playing a prank and releases her, unaware of the true threat.

Ray and Bob subject Walter and Megan to a night of humiliations and torment. Walter is forced to walk on broken glass and is shot, causing him to collapse. Megan is taunted, made to apply makeup, and eventually forced into the bathtub.

Stephanie leverages Bob's attraction to her to persuade him to let her see her mother. Walter incapacitates Bob after Bob frees Stephanie. They rush upstairs to find Ray holding Megan at gunpoint, and the family is forced back into the basement.

Drunken John arrives with Pete and Monica to see Stephanie. Pete discovers Mrs. Alva's corpse and is stabbed to death by Ray. John and Monica are murdered by Ray in a separate act, interrupting the attempted late-night reunion.

Sam comes across the elderly man Ray and Bob assaulted and realizes their identities match the killers on an all-points bulletin. He pledges to stop the intruders as the family remains trapped inside. The danger outside starts to close in on the Davenport home.

Ray prepares to kill Stephanie, Walter, and Megan using a makeshift electric chair. Sam arrives at the Davenport house and attempts to intervene, but is shot and injured by Ray. Stephanie uses the distraction to try to free herself from the device.

Stephanie finally gains a chance and shoots Ray to death, ending the immediate threat. She and Walter and Megan survive the night, though the house is tense and quiet afterward. Sam lies wounded nearby as the authorities close in.

Some time later, Stephanie experiences a nightmare about leaving her home and getting into John's car, only to find Bob in the driver's seat. The dream hints at the lasting trauma and fear that still haunts her.
