Condemned

Distraught over her parents' fighting, Maya moves in with Dante in New York City. She is reluctant to enter the condemned building, but Dante convinces her to give it a chance. Shynola, the superintendent, still lives there and provides basic plumbing and electricity.

Maya starts to settle in and gets along with most residents, but immediately clashes with Gault who warns her that naivety could draw police attention. The tense atmosphere hints at the danger simmering beneath the surface of the decaying building.

Loki's fever grows worse and he begins to hallucinate. Maya attempts to call the authorities for help, but Gault objects and Dante unintentionally destroys her cell phone, cutting off the chance of outside intervention.

Years of poor plumbing have mixed toxic chemicals with dirty drug paraphernalia, infecting the building's water supply. The tainted tap water causes violent psychosis among the inhabitants, turning everyday life into chaos.

Cookie steps out to deliver a new batch of drugs, bolting the doors behind him to protect his operation. Two inept NYPD officers arrive and accidentally kill Cookie, sealing the fate of everyone inside the building as they realize they are trapped.

Dante enlists Vince to help locate Loki, who has disappeared amid the chaos. Alexa's behavior turns violent as the outbreak spreads, and Maya knocks out Big Foot when he attacks Roxy, trying to restore some sense of order.

As the infection spreads, Vince stabs several people in a frenzy. Tess aggressively rants about gentrification to Maya, and Big Foot kills Tess, escalating the body's collapse into violence.

Maya escapes from the escalating mayhem and reunites with Dante. The couple searches for uninfected people to help, but the building's inhabitants continue to kill each other in senseless violence.

Murphy corners Maya and Dante in a bathroom, but is killed by his lover, Gault, in a brutal turn of events. The violence within the building continues to spiral out of control.

Maya escapes through a small hole in the wall and retrieves a weapon for Dante. He becomes stuck in rotted flooring as Gault closes in, and Dante falls through the floor, leaving Maya to face Gault alone.

Hoobler, dressed in a hazmat suit, suddenly appears and kills Gault. He urges Maya to contact the authorities as the situation escalates toward the sewers.

Loki kills Hoobler and pursues Maya toward a hole that leads into the sewers beneath the building. The chase pushes Maya toward the underground tunnels that hold the worst of the outbreak.

Dante and Maya flee deeper into the sewers, with Dante's injured foot slowing their progress. He eventually confronts Loki, kills him, but contracts the infection in the process, leaving him increasingly hostile toward Maya.

Maya reaches a sewer grate and calls for help as cops who killed Cookie earlier appear. She blacks out, later awakening in a hospital where authorities quarantine the entire block to prevent further spread.

In the aftermath, the CDC quarantines the block while Maya struggles in the hospital. Dante roams the sewers, infected and increasingly unstable, leaving their ultimate fates uncertain.
