Classmates

Murali dreams of a 15-year college reunion and his death in 1991 becomes the catalyst for fulfilling that wish posthumously. His parents Iyer and Lakshmi organize the reunion and actively reach out to the former classmates. The gathering is scheduled for 2006 on the college campus.

Old friends arrive to relive the past and memories flood back. That night, Suku makes a dramatic attempt that appears to be suicide, though the others suspect it may be a misreading or staged. The incident leads to a hospital visit where conversations about Murali, Suku, and Thara begin to surface.

At the hospital, Pious recounts Suku's past and the college-era dynamics to Iyer, filling in the missing pieces of the present conflict. The narration helps connect the reunion events with the earlier love story and rivalries. It sets up the revelation of what happened in those years.

During the final year of college, Suku is a fiery singer and student union leader, while Thara is the daughter of an MLA and an award-winning dancer. Satheeshan leads the rival faction of student politics, with Vasu as his sidekick. Raziya comes from a conservative Muslim family, and Pious is a rich, spoiled friend of Suku.

When Satheeshan discovers Suku and Thara's romance, he plots to separate them and uses the upcoming college election to do so. He steals Thara's letter and hides it inside the ballot box, hoping to trigger a public scandal. The act sets off a chain of consequences that will ripple through the campus.

Pious and Suku attempt to retrieve Thara's letter at night but are unable to do so. The failed plan intensifies the tension on the eve of the college election and deepens the looming fallout from Satheeshan's scheme. The letter's theft remains a flashpoint for the lovers' fate.

Raziya and Murali decide to elope, seeking escape from the surrounding politics and expectations. Raziya waits in the generator room for Murali, but he does not show up. The failure to meet that night foreshadows tragedy to come.

The next day brings a public scandal as Thara's letter is exposed and Suku is blamed for its disappearance. A fierce argument erupts between Suku and Satheeshan, while Thara breaks up with Suku. They are told that Murali has been found dead by Raziya in the generator room, and Raziya experiences a nervous breakdown.

After Murali's funeral, Suku decides to discontinue his studies and moves to Mumbai. He enters the diamond business with Shantharam, who later dies and leaves Suku to take over the enterprise. Suku also marries Ratna, though the marriage eventually ends in divorce.

In the present reunion, Thara reveals that she came to apologize to Suku for their breakup. She explains that Satheeshan sabotaged their relationship by planting Thara's letter in the ballot box, and she has since learned about Suku's marriage and divorce.

Thara and Suku reunite when they meet in the generator room; she tearfully apologizes and they reconcile. Suku confesses that on the night they sought Thara's letter, he hid in the generator room and, mistaking Murali for an enemy, attacked and killed him. This revelation ties the past tragedy to his present guilt.

Raziya later visits Suku in the hospital and, consumed with rage over Murali's death, confronts him. She then strangles him with a guitar-string and stages it as suicide, but regrets the act afterward.

Suku regains consciousness and tells the police that he had attempted suicide, seeking to protect the others from his guilt. Iyer, Lakshmi, and Raziya forgive him and urge him to be with Thara, who has waited for fifteen years. The film closes on the note of reconciliation and renewed hope.
