Jerry Lewis shines as downtrodden Fella, whose father’s death leaves him under a snobbish stepmother and her lazy sons Maximilian and Rupert. While they search for a hidden family treasure, the stepmother plans a ball to impress Princess Charmein, hoping she’ll marry Rupert. Fella’s Fairy Godfather appears, urging him to win the princess herself.
