Boston aristocrat Aloysus Merriweather loves elaborate pranks, inventing a powerful joy‑buzzer. To swindle a dinner party, he sends barber Joe Jenkins to pose as him. The scheme collapses like a Cinderella story, forcing Joe to continue the impersonation far longer than expected. The frantic comedy showcases Hal Roach Studios’ slapstick style.
