Lam seeks out his brother Hung Bao in Cho Lon because they are family and Hung Bao is known as a local hero with fighting skills and connections. After Lam and Huong are pursued by motorcyclists, Lam decides they need protection and backing that only his brother can provide. Hung Bao reluctantly agrees to shelter them, offering a house across from his own where his pregnant wife lives.
