A close-knit circle of childhood friends decides to hold a class reunion, dialing up several former classmates, including their friend Mohana, Prem Kumar, who has built a career in a software company in the United States. Hearing about the reunion, Mohana leaves his routine behind and flies back to India, using the journey to reflect on old friendships and the complicated path of his school-day love life.

Past chapters unfold with warmth and a touch of nostalgia. As a village boy, Mohana and his troupe are known for their mischief, yet he has a secret ambition to stay in school rather than pursue a simple farming life alongside his father. The arrival of Radha Meghana Gaonkar, an intelligent and charismatic transfer student, shifts Mohana’s world. He falls for her, and their friendship deepens into unspoken love, a tension that begins to shape his study habits and his daily choices. Mohana struggles to confess his feelings. In a pivotal moment at the PUC level, he writes Radha a love letter, but Radha’s mother discovers it and drags Mohana before the principal. The principal, testing Mohana’s resolve, instructs him to hide and asks Radha about love. Radha’s calm response—that nothing is stronger than her love for her mother—lands a painful blow on Mohana, who learns that devotion to family may supersede personal longing. The principal urges him to prioritize academics, and the romance cools, the two drifting apart even as they later reconnect in Bangalore when they both attend college. A thoughtful gift from Radha—a book about academic success—offers Mohana encouragement, yet Radha abruptly pauses her studies to care for her sick mother, leaving Mohana to face the future on his own. She promises to return, but she never does.

In the present, Mohana has built a successful career. He lands a strong job and credits Radha’s gift with some of his early momentum; his hard work culminates in a promotion to CEO of the company’s American branch, and he receives his first substantial salary. To celebrate, he returns to his village, shares gifts with his parents, and resolves to bring Radha something meaningful as well. When he goes to Radha’s house, he discovers the door is locked. A visit to his former principal yields a confession about a similar past longing—one that ended with the other person marrying someone chosen by her parents because of societal expectations—and the principal urges Mohana to pursue his love, to avoid a future full of regret. With a heavy heart, Mohana travels to America, stepping away from the moment that might have changed everything.

The reunion unfolds with nervous anticipation as the event proceeds, but Radha remains unseen. Mohana delivers a genuine and moving speech, thanking the teachers who helped shape their lives and, toward the end, offering a quiet, unnamed tribute to Radha. He then chooses to visit Radha at her home, where he finds her quietly at work, chopping vegetables on the floor. The revelation comes with a shocking reality: Radha has lost her left leg in an accident that also claimed her mother’s life. She explains how a car accident dashed any chance of a conventional future, yet in the same breath, Mohana’s words and steadfast presence begin to reassure her. Mohana openly confesses his love once more and pledges to stand by her side as a source of support and strength for the rest of their lives. Radha responds with a quiet, emotional acceptance, choosing to embrace the possibility of a shared journey despite the profound changes life has brought.

As the narrative returns from the flashback, Chandru announces that Radha and Mohana have arrived at the press meet, closing with the sense that their reunion is now sealed in the public eye. The film concludes with the cast and crew posing for photographs, the moment captured by a clap of the title, delivered by Shiva Rajkumar, signaling a bittersweet blend of memory, resilience, and enduring connection.
