Aravind is a father who strives to provide his children more than they ask for, often overstepping their choices. His youngest son, Siddhu, also known as Siddharth, wants to chart his own path in life—especially when it comes to his career and his life partner. Aravind expects Siddhu to join his construction company, but Siddhu dreams of starting his own firm and living independently. This clash sets the stage for a delicate dance between duty, tradition, and personal freedom, with Siddhu frequently disguising his true intentions behind excuses.

To steer Siddhu toward a conventional future, Aravind arranges a match with his friend’s daughter, Subbalakshmi. Subbalakshmi shares Siddhu’s upbringing in a tightly controlled household, and the engagement becomes a practical compromise that neither truly desires but both feel obliged to honor. The arrangement quickly reveals the deeper tension: Siddhu’s longing for autonomy clashes with a life that feels scripted, while Subbalakshmi’s demeanor hints at a similar desire to break free from parental control.

During a moment of quiet contemplation at a temple, Siddhu encounters Hasini, a vibrant and unrestrained young woman whose energy, cheerfulness, and refusal to bend to convention captivate him. What begins as a chance meeting blossoms into regular, informal gatherings, and Siddhu finds himself drawn to Hasini’s fearless approach to life. He grows to admire her ability to do what she wants and to savor the small joys that others overlook, realizing that he has fallen in love.

Parallel to this emotional awakening, Siddhu pursues a bank loan to fund his own construction venture. He hesitantly confesses his engagement to Subbalakshmi to Hasini—and to himself—as a test of his resolve. Hasini, initially hurt by the mixed signals, eventually makes a decisive choice: she loves him too, but she urges him to be honest and to break off the engagement if he truly loves her. The moment of truth arrives when Siddhu proclaims his feelings for Hasini aloud as she leaves in a college bus, a declaration that dispatches a storm through Aravind’s household.

Back home, an earnest confrontation follows. Aravind challenges Siddhu about his aloofness and the double life he has led, while Siddhu’s mother, Lakshmi, gently reminds them of the family’s deeper pain and the need for honest communication. This moment becomes pivotal; Siddhu finally opens up about the weight of his father’s overbearing approach and how it has stifled him his whole life. Aravind, hearing his son’s confession, experiences a reform of heart: he apologizes and blesses Siddhu, agreeing to support his son as he seeks Hasini’s forgiveness and, if possible, a future together.

In the days that follow, Siddhu seeks to resolve the mismatch between his heart and his family’s expectations. He approaches Subbalakshmi and her parents to call off the engagement, a move that relieves the mounting tension but also tests the family’s capacity for forgiveness. Aravind, meanwhile, works to bridge the gap with Kanaka Rao, Hasini’s father, encouraging him to see beyond the immediate hurt and to give Siddhu space to prove his growth. Kanaka Rao remains cautious but gradually softens as Siddhu and the family demonstrate a genuine desire to reconcile.

After a period of reflection and patient effort, a turning point arrives: Kanaka Rao, having watched Siddhu and Hasini navigate their challenges, begins to see the sincerity of their bond.
