Blindness

In an unnamed metropolis, a baffling epidemic known only as “White Sickness” strips its victims of sight in an instant, turning bustling streets into silent chaos. The sudden loss of vision spreads like a tide, overwhelming hospitals and forcing the government to seal off the afflicted in a crumbling mental‑hospital asylum. The film opens with the city’s ordinary rhythm shattered, its familiar sounds now echoing in darkness, and the pervasive sense of dread that comes from an invisible, indiscriminate threat.

Inside the bleak walls of the quarantine ward, a diverse group of strangers is thrust together, each carrying the weight of their own ordinary lives now upended. Doctor, an ophthalmologist who first encounters the mystery, arrives with his doctor’s wife, a steady presence whose calm masks her own fear. Among the newcomers are Japanese man, a professional whose sudden blindness jolts his upscale world, and his Japanese man’s wife, whose composure begins to fray. An old man with an eye‑patch offers a weathered perspective on the unfolding disaster, while a woman in dark glasses, enigmatic and cautious, watches the crowd from the margins. A young boy, innocent and bewildered, clings to the hope that still lingers in the air.

The atmosphere within the asylum oscillates between fragile order and mounting anarchy. Dim corridors and overcrowded wards become a crucible where humanity is tested: kindness competes with desperation, and the thin veneer of societal rules begins to crack under the pressure of scarcity and fear. The characters must negotiate personal boundaries, share scarce resources, and confront the unsettling reality that the world outside has changed irrevocably.
