In a remote Mojave desert town, ruthless entrepreneur John Madec arrives with his extravagant $500,000 all-terrain vehicle. He is eager to hunt an endangered desert bighorn sheep and seeks to impress the locals while securing necessary permits for his illegal activities.

Madec bribes the local sheriff to obtain a hunting permit, which reveals the sheriff's corrupt nature. The sheriff, lured by the money, directs veteran tracker Ben to guide Madec into the dangerous Shiprock canyon landscape.

Ben and Madec embark on a journey into the rugged Shiprock canyon, showcasing the harsh and unforgiving nature of the desert. Tensions are high as Madec's disdain for Ben's humble background becomes apparent.
