In the climax of Beast, Nate, his daughter Norah, and their friend Martin find themselves trapped in a terrifying situation amidst the South African wilderness, where a relentless, nearly indestructible lion is hunting them. After surviving multiple attacks, they reach an abandoned school, where Nate tends to Mare’s heavily injured leg using makeshift supplies. Realizing that the lion won’t give up, Nate understands that they need to confront the beast in a way that forces it to fight its natural enemies—lions. He leads the lion into the territory of the pride Martin raised, knowing that these lions will defend their territory fiercely. In the final moments, the lion chases Nate, who intentionally draws it close to the pride, hoping the defending lions will kill it. As the lion is about to attack him, it is shot and killed by Banji, a local helper, ending the nightmare. The movie closes on the image of Nate waking up in a hospital, relieved to see his daughters beside him and mourning the loss of Martin. The ending underscores themes of survival, confronting one’s fears, and the importance of nature’s fierce protection—an ultimate battle between man, beast, and the wild. It leaves viewers with a tense but ultimately hopeful message that even in the face of chaos, human resilience and nature’s instincts can prevail.
