Carol Connor, an introverted university biology student, is scratched by a cat used in an experiment. That evening she tries to shut down a test in Dr. Baker’s lab and is bathed in Sigma radiation. The exposure grants her cat‑like agility, razor‑sharp claw‑like fingernails, superhuman strength and night vision nearly as clear as daylight.
