On the night of a party, Vasantha discovers her husband dead and a masked murderer makes a failed attempt on her life. The shock leaves her emotionally paralysed as fear grips the house. A police investigation is launched to unravel the mystery.

Susila, known as Susi, arrives at the house with friends for holidays and settles with her three uncles and aunt. Ramayya, the family friend, visits and the household dynamic is established while Susi mourns her parents who died long ago. The stage is set for the intertwining secrets to surface.

A series of murders erupts in the house, each crime scene marked by a cigar butt left behind by the killer. Vasantha, the sole eyewitness, is guarded but is killed nonetheless. The murders sow fear and the police intensify their investigation.

The killer frequently phones Susi, threatening that she will be his next target. The tension deepens as she grows increasingly paranoid and the family debates motives and safety. Her sense of security erodes with every call.

Bhaskar, a young man, meets Susi and falls in love while offering to help. He begins investigating Chandrasekhar and Rajasekhar, following Rajasekhar to a strange house where a ghost-like lover appears. He learns Rajasekhar hid a secret relationship that could fuel the killer’s motive.

To trap the killer, Bhaskar lures everyone to stay away for the night. The murderer attacks Susi, but Bhaskar cannot unmask him, catching only a glimpse of his eyes as the mask is left behind. The doorbell rings and Chandrasekhar is found murdered at the doorstep.

During Susi's birthday party, the killer shoots at Susi but misses. Bhaskar pursues the culprit but loses track, and Ramayya is found injured in the garden. The family begins to theorize about the killer’s identity and possible motives.

Ramayya urges the family to reveal their past, revealing that Rajasekhar’s father had an extramarital affair with a woman who bore him a son. On the father’s deathbed, the elder son allegedly rejected the woman’s son, and the woman and her son reportedly died in a fire 15 years ago. The revelation provides a possible motive for the killer.

Bhaskar deduces the killer survived the fire and seeks vengeance, fitting the age profile of the attacker. He has seen the murderer's eyes multiple times and arranges a line-up with masked faces to compare. By matching the eyes, he exposes Ramayya as the killer, aided by the disguise’s prosthetics.

Ramayya confirms the theory and reveals his survival of the fire and his vendetta against the family. He fights to kill Rajasekhar and Susi, but Bhaskar intervenes; a struggle ensues and the police shoot Ramayya, who disappears into a tunnel in the garden.

The family discovers a secret room beneath the garden that leads to the murderer’s hideout, exposing the escape route used after each murder. The reveal marks a turning point in the investigation and the immediacy of the threat.

Tearful at the truth, Rajasekhar accepts the killer as his brother. Bhaskar marries Susi and stays in the house, while Rajasekhar marries his lover, signaling a new equilibrium for the family and a hopeful ending.
