Raasu's advances toward Mahishasuramardhini are ignored, and his persistence earns him a beating from her brother after he lingers around her house. The rejection foreshadows the emotional stakes in their lives. This incident deepens the tension surrounding Raasu and his world.

Mokkai, kept at the margins by unemployment and limited education, dreams of marrying his uncle's daughter back in his village. His ambitions sit uneasily beside their precarious hostel life. The contrast highlights what they hope for versus what they have.

On a particularly rough day, Mokkai is arrested and beaten by female police officers, adding to their misfortune. Raasu's claim of a well-paid job is exposed, deepening Mahishasuramardhini's disgust. The hostel owner ultimately ejects them for not paying rent.

On their last night at the hostel, Raasu and Mokkai vent their grievances toward Kadavul (God) after heavy drinking. Kadavul materializes, first as a mistaken unemployed fellow, then as the divine presence they claim to question. They wake up to find him waiting in their room.

The next morning Kadavul confirms his divine identity by appearing in forms of Vishnu, Jesus, and Buddha. He explains that his purpose is to observe and guide them. The two men must decide whether their fate lies with God or their own choices.

Kadavul introduces a galaxy box, a source of power through a supercomputer. He agrees to spend time with Raasu and Mokkai under the alias Arnold, observing their daily routines and offering guidance. The aim is to determine whether their hardship is God's fault or their own.

While in the Arnold guise, Kadavul guides them and shapes their understanding through his actions and teachings. He persuades the hostel owner to extend their stay by a week, creating a window for transformation. The men begin to rethink their options and potential futures.

Wellesley Prabhu accidentally discovers Arnold's true identity but is persuaded to keep quiet. He senses the gravity of this divine intervention and chooses discretion. The secret remains a muted undercurrent in the group.

On the last night with them, Raasu and Mokkai steal the galaxy box to improve their lives. Kadavul is forced to watch as his power is misused by the very people he mentored. He is left to resume an ordinary life among the hostel's residents.

The true God ends up living as an ordinary, underprivileged presence within the hostel. Raasu and Mokkai use the box to inflict suffering on past employers, triggering their own remorse. Prabhu mourns the consequences of ambition and the moral price they pay.

Arnold returns to help another group of youngsters in the same hostel, but now keeps the galaxy box chained in his pocket to prevent theft. He smiles at the camera, signaling ongoing responsibility and hope.
