Anbe Sivam

Two men, Aras and Sivam, meet at Biju Patnaik Airport in Bhubaneswar for a flight to Chennai. When the flight is canceled by heavy rain, Aras initially suspects Sivam of terrorism and alerts the authorities. He soon discovers his mistake and realizes Sivam is innocent.

With the storm raging and flights grounded, the men end up sharing a room for the night. The crisis forces them to rely on each other despite initial distrust. The experience marks the first step of an uneasy partnership.

Back on the road, they plan to return to Chennai for Aras's wedding and Sivam's delivery of the ₹32,00,000 cheque to the union. Their different motives set the stage for a complicated alliance as they travel together. The tension between them begins to yield to a wary cooperation.

On the way to the Coromandel Express, Aras's bag is stolen and no one accepts his credit card. Sivam repeatedly bails him out of trouble, while Aras tries to shake him off. Yet the persistent improvisation of their bond keeps pulling them back together.

At Ichchapuram railway station, Sivam begins to tell Aras the life that shaped him. Aras listens with growing curiosity as the two men bond through conversation. The discussion marks a turning point from suspicion to shared humanity.

A few years earlier, a healthy Nallasivam performs street theatre protesting corporate-driven industrialisation. He clashes with factory owner Padayatchi, who resists worker raises and oppresses labor. Nalla's satire of Padayatchi fuels both his fame and his risk.

Nalla and Bala fall in love and decide to elope to Kerala to escape Padayatchi’s control. The plan deepens their bond but also exposes them to further danger. Their love story becomes a crucial counterpoint to the industrial battles back home.

The bus bound for Kerala meets a hillside accident, leaving Nalla scarred, disfigured, and partially paralysed. He endures a painful recovery and grapples with his new body and the social stigma it brings. Yet the accident also broadens his empathy and resolve.

Returning to Bala after recovery, Nalla learns that Padayatchi had lied about his death. The falsehood strengthens his belief in kindness and the goodness of others. Nurses' care during his hospital stay reinforces his commitment to social service.

Nalla emerges as a committed social worker who champions union causes despite his insecurities about his scarred body. He channels his experiences into activism, illustrating resilience and compassion. His journey underscores the film's themes of solidarity.

In Chennai, Aras delivers Sivam's cheque to the union workers and invites Sivam to his wedding. Sivam is surprised to learn that Aras's bride is Bala, linking their stories in an unexpected way. The revelation reframes Sivam's relationship with Aras and Bala.

Padayatchi spots Sivam at the wedding and questions why he is there. Sivam explains he was invited by Aras and presses Padayatchi to accept the workers' wage-raise papers. The exchange highlights the uneasy balance between personal history and collective action.

Padayatchi's assistant prepares to kill Sivam, but at the last moment he has a change of heart and warns Sivam to stay away from Padayatchi. Sivam accepts the warning and walks away, leaving the confrontation unresolved and the workers’ cause still alive.
