Anacondas: Trail of Blood

Peter Reysner continues experiments on the captured baby anaconda, mixing blood orchid DNA with his serum to make a larger, longer-living hybrid. The test appears to work, as the creature shows regenerative potential. Peter then burns the infant Dracanaconda, ending that failed test.

The long anaconda escapes from its cage in the mine filled with blood orchids and attacks Peter. He dies in the confrontation, and the mine becomes a scene of pursuit for the serum and the monster. The death sets off a broader hunt involving multiple groups.

Peter 'J.D.' Murdoch, a bone-cancer patient and billionaire, posts an assassin team led by Eugene to locate the serum and kill the snake. He aims to secure the cure and his own leverage in the process. Amanda Hayes and two officers also join the pursuit to stop the serum and the creature.

Along the journey, the group encounters Alex, a trekker lost in the Romanian Carpathians who is working on a paleopathology project. The teams merge as they pursue Peter and the serum. The dangerous landscape adds new peril to the mission.

Amanda Hayes and her allies uncover the blood orchids in the mine and set explosives to destroy them. The anaconda attacks as the cave begins to collapse, a maneuver that the group initially believes kills the snake. Amanda is knocked unconscious, and Alex escapes to fetch more help.

Jackson, Heather, Wendy, Patrick, and Scott join the search for the snake and the serum. The creature attacks the explorer group, and Heather falls ill from a spider bite amid the chaos. The situation grows more dangerous as casualties mount.

Back at base camp, Murdoch makes his move to claim the serum and confronts his rivals. Jackson steals the moment to stab Eugene, resulting in Eugene's death and the accidental killing of Vasile by the same gunfire. The power balance among the humans shifts dramatically.

Murdoch finally injects himself with the serum, believing it will cure his cancer. The anaconda arrives and rips his head off, stalling his plan and leaving the serum's fate uncertain. The survivors press on, hoping to escape.

The survivors speed away in a jeep, with Eugene clinging to the back and seeking the remaining serum. Jackson and Amanda work to fend him off as the vehicle races away. Amanda kicks Eugene off with two grenades; his explosion blows both him and the snake to ash, though the serpent's regeneration is implied.

In the aftermath, Amanda finally destroys the blood orchids to cut off the monster's source of power. The group escapes as the regenerating anaconda disappears into the woods, hinting that the threat may return. The finale leaves the door open for further danger.
