Megha leaves her home in Nainital and travels to Delhi to marry her love, Dheeraj. She arrives at the marriage registrar, hoping to formalize the union, but on the day of the ceremony Dheeraj does not appear. Ankush Ramdev, who makes his living as a registrar witness, becomes involved when Megha finds herself alone and without support.

In the aftermath of the failed wedding, Ankush helps Megha by arranging a job at a local old age home, giving her a roof over her head and a sense of stability. This act marks a turning point for Megha as she starts to see new possibilities for herself. Megha begins to rebuild her life with new purpose.

Megha discovers she has potential as an educated woman who had previously devoted herself to her boyfriend and their relationship. She tells Ankush that she is glad Dheeraj stood her up, because it allowed her to discover herself. This realization fuels her pursuit of self-reliance and growth.

On the day Megha and Ankush plan to marry, a friend informs Dheeraj of Megha's whereabouts. When they meet, Megha is upset and asks Dheeraj to leave, but he asks her to hear his side of the story. He explains that he survived a plan to bomb the train on his way to Delhi, making her realize his actions were not malicious.

Megha realizes that what Dheeraj did was not intentional and declares she cannot live without him. Ankush recognizes that he is now only a friend to Megha, shifting the dynamics of their relationship. This realization clears the path for the next steps in their lives.

Megha and Dheeraj decide to marry, and Ankush agrees to serve as the official witness, demanding his regular fee. He makes it clear that he is stepping back from any closer involvement with the couple. This marks a professional closure to their intertwined story.
