A Man of Reason

From a young age, Lucio became acutely aware of the harsh inequalities in society, particularly feeling the disparity faced by the working class. This realization took a poignant turn as he faced the banks, recognizing their heartlessness towards those in dire need.

In 1942, as Lucio's father lay dying, Lucio approached the bank for financial help, only to be met with rejection. After his father's passing, he dreamt of a new life in Paris with his sister Satur, but her insistence on his military service delayed their reunion.

In 1952, Lucio escaped from his military service to reunite with Satur. He shared his experiences in smuggling, a venture that had brought him success, but ultimately led to betrayal among his crew and landed them in military prison.

With the help of Satur's husband Patrick, Lucio found work as a bricklayer. His exceptional work ethic surprised older colleagues, who saw in him a spirit reminiscent of an anarchist, piquing his interest in revolutionary ideologies.

Lucio joined the Constituent Assembly of the Clichy Anarchist Association, where he was exposed to ideas about the evils of money and societal exploitation by banks. He developed a strong connection to the anarchist movement, shaping his path moving forward.

Lucio crossed paths with Quico Sabate, a renowned anarchist known for robbing banks to redistribute wealth. Their conversations ignited thoughts on authority and corruption, solidifying Lucio's commitment to revolutionary actions.

Lucio's descent into crime solidified with his participation in a bank heist that left him feeling confident and purposeful. This success motivated him to allocate their gains to anarchist causes and support the families of imprisoned allies.

As a result of their crimes, Lucio and his associates found themselves on the radar of Inspector Costello, who was piecing together the patterns of Spanish anarchists. Despite being captured, Lucio evaded serious charges, but tension swelled around him.

As Lucio grew increasingly disillusioned with violent methods of revolution, tension arose between him and Quico. Lucio believed in using persuasive means to spread ideology, whereas Quico favored more aggressive tactics, leading to a rift in their relationship.

Redirecting his focus, Lucio established a printing press with Anne, a passionate social revolutionist. Their relationship deepened as they collaborated on revolutionary projects, merging art and activism against a looming police threat.

The news of America's intervention in Cuba served as a catalyst for Lucio and Anne. They devised plans to create counterfeit money to support the cause, envisioning a direct impact on the American economy through their forged documents.

As Lucio's actions intensified, he faced multiple arrest attempts while also celebrating personal milestones, including fatherhood. Despite conditional bail, Lucio continued his high-risk forgery endeavors, further entrenching himself in the anarchist struggle.

In a daring move, Lucio devised a plan to distribute forged traveler’s checks across various banks without targeting specific locations. This precarious strategy aimed to fund the anarchist cause, but betrayal loomed over his operation.

Lucio's reliance on trusted allies led to a betrayal during a pivotal meeting aimed at financial gain. As law enforcement tightened its grip, he was arrested, forcing Lucio to confront the consequences of his risky actions.

In a final desperate attempt, Lucio negotiated with the City Bank, leveraging his printing capabilities for both freedom and resources for the anarchist cause. The tense standoff culminated in a deal that allowed him to escape and reunite with his family in Bolivia.
