In the turbulent Sengoku period, war‑torn provinces bleed into one another beneath a canopy of whispering bamboo. Summoned by a stern governor, a fierce young warrior—Gintoki—is tasked with confronting a growing wave of inexplicable dread that haunts the bamboo groves. The governor, a figure of authority and dread himself, insists that only a samurai of exceptional skill and resolve can face the unseen menace threatening the region’s fragile balance.  Gintoki carries the weight of his lineage and the silent promise to protect the people who look to him for salvation, even as the shadows around him grow ever more ominous.

Within the forest’s depths, two ethereal women—Yone and Shige—appear like ghostly lanterns, their presence both beautiful and unsettling.
