Dr. Plato Zorba, a mysterious figure associated with the occult, passes away, leaving behind a complex legacy for his impoverished nephew, Cyrus. The legacy includes a vast, eerie mansion filled with supernatural secrets and a peculiar condition for ownership.

Cyrus, alongside his wife Hilda, daughter Medea, and son Buck, learns from the family attorney Ben Rush about the bizarre conditions attached to the estate. The family must live there continuously to prevent the property from reverting to the state.
