Corporal Tan Kayu, Alaric Tay and his friend Tarzan, Haresh Tilani, scheme to dodge guard duty by claiming sickness at the medical centre, hoping for a quiet day away from the post. Inside, they reunite with medic Chua, Rayve Tay, an old buddy of Kayu, whose prickly professionalism immediately clashes with Kayu’s laid-back attitude. The strict Sergeant Lee Siao On, Benjamin Heng, interrupts this casual jailbreak with a sharp reprimand, setting a tense tone as the camp’s routine begins to crumble around them.
A soldier who was exposed during an outfield exercise is brought into the medical centre and quickly loses control, attacking those nearby—including Tarzan—pulling the squad deeper into a crisis they hadn’t planned for. Kayu and Lee manage to escape the building with Xiao Ling, and the trio learns that the entire camp has fallen to the outbreak. Kayu retrieves his hidden rifle, a crucial edge in a suddenly dangerous night, and the group quickly realizes the zombies move with unsettling persistence, guided mostly by muscle memory. Their path to safety leads them across the perilous obstacle course, a gauntlet they must conquer to survive.
The group makes their way to the canteen, where they run into Xiao Ling’s mother Susie, Auntie Susie, who runs the camp’s military supplies store, alongside Chua and Captain Yap, who holds the keys to a vehicle that could still carry them out of the camp. The tension spirals when an infected private arrives, and the increasingly paranoid Chua seizes Kayu’s rifle, shooting the soldier, and orders his captives—Xiao Ling and the private, plus Lee and Susie in their own cage. Kayu initially plays along with Chua and Yap, attempting to navigate a dangerous power shift, but seizes control by knifepoint when he aims to secure the vehicle’s keys. Chua and Yap fling the keys toward the advancing horde and flee, yet Kayu retrieves them, freeing Lee, Susie, and Xiao Ling in the process. The zombies pause briefly as the national anthem begins playing, giving them a momentary window to slip out of the canteen.
Outside, the group discovers Yap has crashed the vehicle in his frantic escape, a misstep that heightens the peril. In the chaos, Susie is bitten while protecting her daughter, and the family bonds fracture under the weight of fear. The survivors take shelter in a storeroom, where Kayu and Lee trade heated words about what to do next, and Xiao Ling steps between them, trying to keep her mother stable while offering counsel to the others. Susie, overwhelmed by the infection’s progress, turns and lunges at her daughter, forcing Kayu to shoot the zombified Susie to end her suffering. With their options narrowing, Kayu, Lee, and Xiao Ling resolve to reach the operations room in the headquarters to contact Army HQ for assistance. They also learn that mosquitoes repellent appears to repel the undead; Xiao Ling had applied it earlier and was spared during a close encounter with the infected private, a detail that could prove vital.
Xiao Ling heads to the operations room to broadcast a plea for help over the camp’s public-address system, while Kayu and Lee prepare to hold off the advancing horde. In the operations room, Xiao Ling encounters the wounded Chua, who demands to know how she’s managed to stay alive. The confrontation leads to a struggle that damages the radio equipment, but not before they uncover that a helicopter has been dispatched—reportedly to rescue Captain Yap. Chua then coerces Xiao Ling to accompany him toward the extraction point, leaving Kayu and Lee to push their way through the surge toward the camp gate.
At the gate, Chua confronts the group but is bitten and infected in the process. As Kayu struggles to aid him, Chua shoots Lee, stitching a savage wound into their precarious escape. Kayu fights back, contending for possession of the crucial mosquito repellent, and Lee, despite his injuries, helps retrieve it, his dog tag protecting him from a fatal blow. The relentless horde finally overwhelms Chua, allowing Kayu, Lee, and Xiao Ling to reach the waiting helicopter. The aircraft is piloted by the camp’s Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), who is in a desperate mission to find his son, Lee.
Twenty-eight hours later, Lee and Kayu are deployed on a critical mission to locate other survivors still trapped in the outbreak, their bond hardened by the brutal tests they endured and tempered by the quiet, stubborn hope that they can rebuild something after the nightmare.
