Vakkachan leads Bhavana Theatres as they prepare to drive to a late-night show. Kollappally arrives late, claiming he lost his lock and keys and had to buy a replacement. The troupe finally departs, setting off toward the venue.

On the road, Rohini, a prominent young actress, is picked up by the troupe. Vakkachan questions Rohini about Ayyappan, the tabla player with whom she lives. Rohini says she doesn’t know his whereabouts and that he hadn’t returned home the previous night.

Varunan suggests checking the nearby arrack shop since Ayyappan is a heavy drinker. They search the shop but find no sign of him. The group hopes he might still reach the theatre on time.

Ayyappan does not turn up for the late-night show and the drama goes on without him. The troupe adapts their performance in his absence. After the show, they head to a pre-booked hotel to sleep for the night.

The next day's drama is scheduled at Pandalam. With no sign of Ayyappan, manager Chellappan assigns Janardhanan as a replacement to keep the troupe’s schedule intact. The troupe continues preparations for the Pandalam performance.

Two weeks after his disappearance, Vakkachan reports Ayyappan missing to the local police. CI Jacob Eeraly, an honest and sharp officer, takes up the case and begins interrogating the troupe members individually. Tensions rise as the investigation unfolds.

During interviews, each member recounts Ayyappan’s unfaithful behavior, heavy drinking, sexual advances, and violent temper. Rohini reveals she lives with him against her will. The inspector also learns that Ayyappan had forcefully snatched—and later sold—Rohini’s wedding earrings.

A month later, Ayyappan’s body is discovered in a paddy field between the company office and his rented house, with a broken glass bottle nearby. The murder weapon seems to be the broken bottle. The police recover a glass shard and a pair of keys engraved with the initials 'JK' while expanding the inquiry.

Based on the 'JK' initials and other evidence, the police quietly arrest Kollappally after a theatre performance. He confesses to killing Ayyappan by accident during a road duel, though the admission does not fully satisfy the investigators. The case remains under active investigation.

Detective Jacob dives deeper and retrieves a shard of the murder bottle from Ayyappan’s rented house, where Rohini had been living with him. The discovery strengthens the link between Rohini and the crime. The investigators reassess the motives and potential collaborators.

A big show is scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram with the Governor as chief guest. Police plan to use Kollappally as a ploy to uncover Rohini’s involvement by allowing him to speak to the troupe over the phone. The plan aims to elicit Rohini's response and reveal any hidden guilt.

Kollappally arrives late to the venue and tells Rohini that he has been arrested for murder. In a panic, Rohini strides onto the stage and publicly admits to killing Ayyappan. The public confession shocks the audience and the troupe.

Rohini confesses to the murder and explains her motive: Ayyappan taunted her about ruining her sister’s life and had already sold Rohini’s earrings. She stabbed him in a moment of anger and then enlisted Kollappally’s help to hide the body in a nearby paddy field.

Rohini and Kollappally are taken into custody as the rest of the troupe boards a bus and leaves the scene. The show continues to live on in memory, while the legal process unfolds. The film closes with the troupe’s future uncertain.
