In Kashmir, where violence and political tension shape daily life, the Indian army closes in on insurgents with relentless resolve. Captain Aman Jimmy Shergill is deployed to hunt the rebels, while Adaa Minissha Lamba lives with her father Gyan Prakash, her grandmother Dolly Ahluwalia, and a mute adopted sister. Adaa’s brother, Shakeel Yashpal Sharma, has aligned with the terrorists. Against this backdrop, a fragile romance blossoms between Aman and Adaa, a relationship Aman keeps hidden from his command and from their families.
Despite the danger, the romance deepens, and Aman is drawn further into the conflict. He is given a crucial mission to locate and eliminate insurgents, and soon captures their leader, who happens to be Shakeel’s mentor. The discovery adds a personal sting to the operation, intensifying the tension between duty and love. As the web of danger tightens, Adaa’s world begins to fracture at the edges.
Back home, Adaa’s family learns of the affair. Her grandmother Dolly Ahluwalia approves of the union, but her father Gyan Prakash insists Aman stay away, arguing that such a relationship would not be accepted in their circle. Undeterred, Aman is given another mission; his unit raids a terrorist hideout but is ambushed in a brutal exchange. Aman and four comrades are captured by Shakeel, who demands the release of their leader in exchange for the soldiers’ lives.
Adaa discovers Shakeel’s hideout and pleads with her brother not to harm Aman. Seizing the moment, Aman escapes and flees with Adaa just as the army closes in to mount a siege and free the captured men. The daring rescue reshapes the flames of their romance into a public secret, one that thickens the atmosphere of suspicion as Aman returns to the city.
The truth about Adaa and Aman soon reaches the authorities, and suspicion falls on him that he is colluding with the very terrorists he’s supposed to eradicate. He is arrested and court-martialed, while Adaa vows to save him. She visits the chief minister, who offers help only if she publicly denies the relationship; she refuses. Guided by her mute sister, she writes a letter to the prime minister, narrating their story and seeking help for Aman. Then fate puts Adaa in the spotlight on a national live interview with the News Anchor Interviewer Nimrat Kaur, recounting their ordeal and urging a fair hearing.
The televised revelation rankles the terrorists, who escalate their menace. Shakeel seizes a mosque, taking hostages in an attempt to force a political concession, and they bomb Adaa’s house, gravely injuring her grandmother. Undeterred, Adaa broadcasts her story live, determined to keep the world’s eyes on the truth, while Shakeel demands a negotiation that hinges on Aman’s fate.
In the climactic moments, Aman enters the mosque to confront Shakeel. Shakeel assaults him, only to realize that his own father is among the hostages, adding a new layer of personal tragedy to the confrontation. Adaa’s live broadcast continues to move public opinion, and Aman reveals the stakes of the standoff. The army executes a pre-planned counterstrike; a bulletproof setup ensures Aman can trigger a coordinated assault, allowing the snipers to strike. The remaining terrorists surrender, and the siege ends with the forces regaining control. Adaa arrives at the scene, and the lovers depart together, their bond tempered by sacrifice and the scars of the conflict.
