X-Men: The Last Stand

In the 1980s, Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto visit Jean Grey at her family home to recruit her for the X-Mansion. Her parents, believing she is mentally ill, are eager to send her away, unaware that Jean possesses incredible telekinetic abilities, which she dramatically demonstrates by levitating cars in the neighborhood.

Fast forward ten years, Warren Worthington III is depicted in a troubling state, attempting to sever his wings in despair over his mutant nature. His father, Warren Worthington II, discovers his son's attempts and is horrified, leading to conflict and emotional tension within their family.

The narrative shifts to the X-Men engaged in a training montage against a massive robot. Kitty Pryde and Colossus are part of the team, while Cyclops's absence is felt. Wolverine's reckless behavior creates friction as he opts for a risky strategy that puts teamwork in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, Mystique finds herself imprisoned by the U.S. government after being caught stealing vital information about an experimental vaccine against mutants. The vaccine, developed from a mutant's DNA, can only replicate the X-gene rather than create it, raising ethical concerns.

Warren Worthington II's lab announces a controversial new vaccine that suppresses the X-gene, offering it as a 'cure' for any mutant who wishes to forsake their abilities. This announcement deeply divides the mutant community and creates internal conflict as some, like Rogue, consider taking it.

In response to the so-called cure, Magneto rallies his Brotherhood of Mutants, insisting that the vaccine is a step toward extermination. He warns his allies that their powers are at risk, leading to an organized attack plan against the government's prison facility.

Realizing the dangers Jean poses, Professor X sends Wolverine and Storm to find her. They uncover signs of Jean's emergence as Phoenix, including telekinetic disturbances and Cyclops’s glasses, leading them to a shocking discovery about her identity.

Magneto orchestrates an attack on Alcatraz to eliminate Leech, the critical component of the cure. The X-Men, determined yet outnumbered, devise a plan to thwart Magneto's forces despite the overwhelming odds stacked against them.

As Magneto's forces invade Alcatraz, they encounter a military presence armed with weapons designed to counteract mutants’ powers. A fierce battle ensues, where the X-Men fight valiantly against overwhelming numbers, attempting to protect Leech.

In the heat of battle, Beast bravely administers the cure to Magneto, robbing him of his formidable powers. This pivotal moment shifts the tide in favor of the X-Men as they intensify their efforts to rescue Leech from Juggernaut and bring down Magneto's forces.

As the chaos climaxes, Wolverine confronts Jean, who has transformed into the Phoenix. In a poignant scene, she briefly gains consciousness and pleads with him to save her, prompting Wolverine to declare his love before making the devastating choice to end her life.

With Jean dead, the X-Men regroup under Storm's leadership, now the headmistress, while Wolverine takes on the role of a teacher. The mutant community faces new challenges as Rogue reveals she has taken the cure, enabling her to finally touch Iceman.

In a poignant moment, Magneto, now powerless, sits alone at a chessboard in a park, contemplating the loss of his abilities. His fingers hover over a chess piece, symbolizing his lost power and the quiet contemplation of his next move in a world that has changed drastically.

In the film's closing moments, a post-credits scene reveals Dr. Moira MacTaggert checking on a comatose patient. To her shock, the patient responds using Xavier’s voice, suggesting that the Professor may not be entirely gone, leaving an intriguing possibility for the future.
