Winter's Tale

In 1895, a young immigrant couple arrives at Manhattan, full of hopes for a new life. However, their dreams are shattered as they are denied entry due to their illnesses, specifically consumption.

Desperate to save their infant son, the couple takes a drastic step by placing him in a small sailboat named 'City of Justice.' They send him afloat toward the shores of New York City, entrusting his fate to the sea.

Fast forward to 1916, the baby who once drifted on the boat has now grown into Peter Lake, played by Colin Farrell. Unbeknownst to him, he is under the guidance of a supernatural demon posing as gangster Pearly Soames.

Peter decides to leave Pearly’s gang, realizing the danger it poses to his life. Unfortunately, this decision marks him for death, prompting a series of perilous events.

In a critical moment, just as Peter's life hangs in the balance, he is rescued by a magnificent white horse. This horse turns out to be his guardian angel, guiding him toward a new path.

During his last heist at the mansion of Beverly Penn, Peter finds himself captivated by the young woman who suffers from the same illness that plagued his parents. Their unexpected meeting leads to a deep, romantic connection.

As Peter and Beverly's relationship blossoms, Pearly becomes aware of their bond's significance. He begins plotting against them, trying to thwart their happiness and connection.

Peter takes Beverly to the serene Lake of the Coheeries, a place where Pearly's influence cannot reach them. It is here that Peter introduces Beverly to his family, deepening their bond further.

During a lavish ball, an angel, disguised as one of the guests, poisons Beverly's drink. This act of deceit leads to a heartbreaking moment when Peter realizes Beverly has succumbed to the poison.

Grieving after Beverly's funeral, Peter faces a bitter showdown with Pearly and his men on the Brooklyn Bridge. In a desperate move to protect his noble steed, Peter sacrifices himself and is thrown off the bridge.

Miraculously surviving the fall, Peter wanders the city for the next one hundred years, suffering from amnesia. During this time, he draws chalk sketches of a red-haired girl, oblivious to his past.

In 2014, the now 119-year-old Peter encounters a spirited young girl named Abby. Her presence strongly resonates with him, triggering memories of his lost past and the miracle he must now protect.

During a heartfelt dinner with Abby and her mother Virginia, Peter learns that Abby has been diagnosed with cancer. Understanding the weight of the situation, he recognizes Abby as the new miracle he must save.

Pearly, enraged by Peter's return, demands a mortal duel, which is permitted by Lucifer. As Pearly's men attack Virginia's home, Peter and his companions take refuge, awaiting the confrontation.

After defeating Pearly with the nameplate of 'City of Justice,' Peter rejuvenates Abby with a gentle kiss. He then pays his final respects at Beverly's grave before ascending onto the stars, witnessing his miraculous journey.
