Prior to facing imprisonment, bard Edgin Darvis, portrayed by Chris Pine, was a dedicated member of the Harpers—an organization committed to preserving peace and protecting the oppressed. However, tragedy struck when his beloved wife Zia (Georgia Landers) was mercilessly slain by followers of a Red Wizard that Edgin had previously detained. This heartbreaking loss led Edgin to abandon his noble oath, plunging into a life of despair and excessive drinking. During this tumultuous period, he crossed paths with Holga Kilgore, played by Michelle Rodriguez, a woman rejected by her tribe for daring to love an outsider. Holga, recognizing Edgin’s suffering, took him and his daughter Kira, portrayed by Chloe Coleman, under her wing, viewing Edgin as a brother.

Struggling to survive, Edgin and Holga turned to theft, seeking to provide for Kira in a world that had turned its back on them. Together with a band of misfits, including the amateur sorcerer Simon Aumar, a character brought to life by Justice Smith, the cunning rogue Forge Fitzwilliam, played by Hugh Grant, and the enigmatic Sofina, portrayed by Daisy Head, they embarked on a series of criminal escapades. In a desperate attempt to resurrect Zia, Edgin sought to steal a “Tablet of Reawakening” during a raid on a Harper stronghold, but he and Holga were captured, leaving their accomplices to escape.

After spending two long years in the frigid prison of Revel’s End, Edgin and Holga eventually escaped, only to learn they had been pardoned. Upon their return to Neverwinter, they discovered Forge had risen to power as the new Lord, having manipulated Kira into believing her father’s actions were solely motivated by greed. As the truth unraveled, it became clear that Sofina was a Red Wizard, and together with Forge, they had orchestrated the capture of Edgin and Holga.

As the plot thickened, the duo learned of Forge’s plans to host the High Sun Games, which would provide an opportune moment to retrieve the Tablet and prove their innocence to Kira. Along the way, they recruited the help of Doric, played by Sophia Lillis, a Tiefling druid opposed to Forge’s cruel logging incursions. After a series of harrowing adventures and clever tactics involving ancient relics and undead encounters, the group finally prepared to confront their adversaries.

Their journey led them down an unexpected path filled with danger, betrayal, and magic, as they pieced together the full extent of Sofina and Forge’s sinister intentions—turning innocent crowds into a fearsome undead army using a dark curse. In a climactic battle, Edgin’s resolve was tested as he sought to save both Holga, gravely injured, and Kira from the clutches of evil. Ultimately, through teamwork and newfound courage, Edgin unlocked the true power of love and family, culminating in a thrilling showdown that changed the fate of Neverwinter forever.

With heroic feats accomplished and the old Lord restored to power, the team emerged victorious, cementing their legacy as guardians of the realm. Forge, however, faced a different fate as he was sent to Revel’s End, where it was clear he would not escape as easily as Edgin and Holga once did. The resilient bond of friendship and sacrifice became the cornerstone of their enduring legacy.
