Wicked City

The Black World exists alongside the human world, populated by supernatural demons. For centuries a peace treaty has kept the two realms relatively harmonious, enforced by a clandestine organization called the Black Guard. This fragile balance is guarded by radical Black World factions who threaten the accord.

In Tokyo, Renzaburō Taki leads a double life as a salaryman by day and a Black Guard when needed. He becomes romantically involved with Kanako, a bar confidant who turns out to be a spider-like doppelgänger from the Black World. She tries to kill him and escapes with a sample of his semen.

Taki is assigned to protect Giuseppe Mayart, a two-hundred-year-old mystic and treaty signatory. He will work with a Black Guard partner, and they await Mayart's arrival at Narita Airport, only to be ambushed by Radicals on the runway. Makie, a beautiful Black Guard, saves him.

Taki, Makie, and Mayart take shelter in a hotel in Hibiya shielded by spiritual barriers. The hotelier explains that Taki will only value his role once he understands what he is protecting. The trio prepares for the danger outside as they await the next move from Shadow and the Radicals.

An assault on the hotel by a Radical named Jin disrupts the fragile shelter. Mayart slips away amid the chaos as the threat from the Radicals grows closer. The hotel siege tests the trio's resolve and the limits of their protection.

Makie and Taki locate Mayart in a soapland, where his health has been sapped by a Radical. They rush him to a spiritual hospital under Black Guard protection to begin his recovery and preserve the treaty's signatory. The urgency underscores the stakes of their mission.

Midway to the hospital, Makie is captured by a tentacle demon, forcing Taki to press on without her. They reach the clinic, where Mayart begins his recovery while Shadow taunts Taki, pressing him to rescue Makie at any cost.

Taki tracks Shadow to a dilapidated building, where Makie is being gang-raped by Radicals. He fights off the attackers, kills the female Radical, and wounds Shadow, reclaiming Makie and striking back at the Radicals.

In the aftermath, Makie reveals her past romance with a Radical and explains why she joined the Black Guard to pursue peace between the worlds. The revelation strains Taki and leads to a confrontation with his superior, who deems his personal feelings a liability and fires him.

Taki and Mayart flee through a tunnel with a stowaway Mayart when Kanako ambushes them again. Bolts of supernatural lightning kill Kanako and mortally wound Taki and Makie, intensifying the crisis and deepening their bond.

The survivors awaken inside a church and share a passionate moment, reaffirming their bond. The church setting marks a turning point as they recommit to each other and to their mission.

Shadow launches a final attack, but Mayart unleashes a surge of lightning to deflect it. He reveals that he was hired to protect his bodyguards and the secret of the two worlds' peace is at stake.

The pregnancy between Taki and Makie amplifies her powers, enabling her to deal the decisive blow to Shadow. Mayart confirms their union as central to the peace treaty and the possibility of producing half-human, half-demon children.

With Shadow defeated and a new peace established, the trio heads to the peace ceremony. Taki remains with the Black Guard to protect both worlds and his loved ones, while Makie and their future child symbolize the union of the two realms.
