When a Killer Calls

A psychopath enters the Hewitt residence and murders Linda Hewitt and her two children, Ryan and Holly. He photographs the killings on his cellphone, turning the crime into a disturbing keepsake.

In a parallel thread, Molly's parents are killed en route to a dinner party at which the father is to give a speech. The attacker appears to be someone they knew, setting off the night of terror.

Trisha Glass starts receiving increasingly threatening calls and texts. She suspects her boyfriend Matt might be behind them, but the messages imply Molly is in danger and demand vigilance.

Molly is seen hiding outside behind garbage cans after playing a scare prank on Trisha. Charlie, Molly's next-door neighbor, appears and mentions Molly's ex-babysitter Mrs. Kochs, hinting at a troubled neighborhood history.

Back at Molly's house, Trisha puts Molly to bed while the caller escalates the threats. He sends pictures of the earlier murders and claims he did it for her, prompting Trisha to call the police to trace the calls.

Matt, Frank, and Chrissy arrive claiming they’ve been chased by cops after an incident at a bowling alley. They seek shelter, and Charlie sees them enter but is killed by the intruder soon after.

Chrissy hears a strange noise and explores while Frank investigates and is ambushed; Chrissy is attacked when she checks on him. The intrusion tightens its grip on the house as danger closes in.

Worried about the commotion, Trisha asks Matt to find out what is happening. He goes to the basement and is ambushed, then tied up by the intruder as the danger continues to unfold.

The police trace the calls to inside the house as Trisha searches for Molly. She discovers a hidden camera in the living room, and then checks on Molly, finding her dead in the bedroom beside Richard Hewitt, the killer.

In the basement, Richard tortures Chrissy and kills her, then murders two state troopers who arrive. He reveals that he raped Trisha and became obsessed, explaining the motive for the killings as a disturbed fixation on her.

Matt fights back and attempts to free Trisha, but Richard kills him in the struggle. The scene intensifies as Trisha remains bound and trapped, waiting for an opportunity to escape.

Using a weapon recovered from Matt's car, Trisha shoots Richard multiple times, killing him and ending the massacre. She then staggers out of the house into the street, heading home at last.

The surviving babysitter walks away from the house as sirens approach, the night filled with the fallout of the brutal events. She moves through the empty streets toward safety and her own home.
