Village of the Giants

A group of partying out-of-town teenagers crash their car into a roadblock during a rainstorm. After the wreck, they have a muddy, playful wrestling match and then hike into Hainesville to look for something fun. Their reckless mood sets up the collision between outsiders and the town.

Fred remembers meeting a girl from Hainesville named Nancy, which motivates the group to look her up. The plan to find Nancy foreshadows the coming clash between the outsiders and the locals. The scene marks a bridge between the party crowd and the town's residents.
