The plot follows a young scientist living in the modern world who originally hails from the dwarf realm of Shuflandia. A magical potion, guarded by the Big Eater—the dwarves’ ruler—allows him to grow to “king size.” Shuflandia lies hidden in a library cellar, where only the most obedient are granted the chance to leave. Once in the larger world, the dwarves are reluctant to return, and the kingdom is notable for having no women.
