Shyamsunder, Shaam, is an upright ACP who finds himself in a brutal clash with the local crime lord Dhanraj, Rahul Dev. When goons murder his son Moksha, Shyam keeps the tragedy from his family, fearing that his daughter could be targeted next. Dhanraj’s threats loom large, and the police arrange for a security officer to guard Shyam’s household. Deva, Ajay, arrives, rescues Shyam from Dhanraj’s men, and presents himself as the appointed protector.
The family clings to a false impression: they believe Moksha is safe at a boarding school and await a Sunday call, only to be misled when they’re told he went on an excursion. Shyam grows tense and ultimately confides everything to Deva, laying bare the danger that surrounds them. As the protective cover is arranged, Shyam heads out to drop Anjali, his ACP daughter, at school with Tiger, Brahmanandam, with whom Deva shares a room. It is there that Shyam meets Aiki, Taapsee Pannu, who soon discovers warmth and affection in him, and a mutual attraction begins to bloom.
Shyam’s wife Sathya, Sridevi Vijayakumar, dislikes Deva and resists having him entangled with her family, while Aiki’s feelings for Shyam intensify. To Shyam’s shock, he learns that Deva is not actually the police security officer; Deva is Veera, Ravi Teja, a village icon who embodies a god-like presence for the people. Veera kills the security officer who worked for Dhanraj and takes his place, all while Sathya is revealed to be Veera’s step-sister. In a tense pre-interval moment, Dhanraj comes to finish Shyam and his family, but Veera unleashes his power to protect them. Yet when Dhanraj presses the attack, Pedda Rayudu, Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, suddenly arrives and shoots Dhanraj dead, leaving Veera unconscious.
A police officer then sends Veera to Shyam’s family for safety. After the interval, the story unfolds in flashback. Veera was a formidable yet kind-hearted landlord in a village, living with his younger brother, friends, and his wife Chitra, Kajal Agarwal. The village faced a threat from Pedda Rayudu, who sought to force them out to make way for a factory, and Veera stood in his way, beating back the oppression. Veera’s younger brother marries the officer’s daughter, and the officer later relocates Veera to Shyam’s family, a move that coincides with a chain of tragedy: Pedda’s wife commits suicide, and Pedda retaliates by killing Veera’s entire family, including Chitra at a time when Veera was away.
Grief fuels Veera’s resolve, and he eliminates Pedda’s henchmen in vengeance. A catastrophic explosion seems to end Pedda’s life, though Veera remains unaware that Pedda has actually survived. Sathya’s suspicion and resentment toward Veera deepen as she blames him for the family’s devastation. Veera eventually travels to the city to rescue his step-sister’s family and rebuild what has been torn apart. The flashback culminates with Pedda’s challenge to Veera, a brutal duel, and Veera’s final triumph over Pedda, restoring balance and forcing a path toward healing.
In the wake of this resolution, Aiki returns to Veera’s life with a renewed sense of belonging, and Veera accepts her proposal, choosing to embrace a future united with his sister and the people he has saved.
