The film opens in 2050 with ex-politician Adaikalam reflecting on how his dream of becoming MLA has collapsed. In Coimbatore 2022, Karthi (Karthik) is an unemployed, carefree man whose daily life is a mystery to his neighbors. He ends up aiding Adaikalam's political ambitions and learns Adaikalam wants sex education to be mandatory in schools. The political plot thickens as the two forge a tenuous alliance.

Karthi meets Jamuna, a Malayali girl, and is drawn to her elder sister Yamuna instead of Jamuna herself. Jamuna's father Velayudhan Kutty pushes for a Dubai-based husband and notes the crowd of suitors outside their house. The door number 58 becomes a focal point in the family's planning and expectations.

Karthi confesses love to Yamuna, while Jamuna continues to pursue him, causing tension. Adaikalam advises Karthi to keep Jamuna in mind in case Yamuna rejects him. The love triangle tightens as loyalties and desires collide.

Yamuna initially ignores Karthi and later acknowledges her growing feelings for him, though she tries to hide them. She contemplates telling her father about the situation, complicating the family dynamics further. The emotional tension deepens between the sisters and the lovers.

When Velayudhan Kutty, his wife, and Jamuna go to Palakkad for the weekend, Yamuna invites Karthi to spend time with her. Adaikalam hands Karthi a condom, warning him, but curiosity and nerves lead to tension about expectations and trust. The scene foreshadows potential complications in their relationship.

The next day, Yamuna shows a family album, revealing a deeper level of intimacy. Karthi realizes the condom was misplaced, and Yamuna breaks up with him, suspecting he is using her for sex. The miscommunication strains their relationship further.

Desperate to secure the relationship, Adaikalam proposes kidnapping Yamuna's grandmother to coerce her into marriage. Karthi resists the plan but becomes entangled as Adaikalam takes the lead and tries to manipulate events to his advantage. The moral line blurs as familial pressures intensify.

On Yamuna's reception night, Karthi plans to elope with her while disguising himself as a woman. Adaikalam expects a straightforward outcome, but confusion escalates when he has an accidental reaction after taking what he believes to be de-stress medicine but is actually Viagra. The sequence is chaotic and darkly comic.

Karthi escapes after realizing Yamuna's fiancé is a pervert, and the couple discusses their future amid family interference. They remain determined to be together despite opposition from their families and society.

Velayudhan Kutty confronts Karthi and the families; Karthi begs for forgiveness and his father Gopal agrees to a cooling-off period until Yamuna's wedding. The community's opinions weigh heavily on the couple and their prospects.

Adaikalam plots to kidnap Yamuna and Karthi on the reception day, but the story returns to 2050 where Chris Gayle asks Adaikalam how Karthi ruined his life. Adaikalam reveals that Karthi exposed his sex tape and ended his political career. Karthi proclaims he is married to Yamuna with two children, and Jamuna is married and living in Dubai.
