Uyarndha Ullam

Anand spends nights boozing and gambling with his friends. He gets into a brawl with rowdies, and a stranger named Selvam intervenes, defeating the troublemakers and carrying Anand back to his bungalow.

The next day Anand has no memory of the previous night. Mani and Nagapillai explain the incident, and Anand appoints Selvam as his Personal Assistant in gratitude for the rescue.

Anand meets Nagapillai's niece Geetha, who notices the house's disarray. She motivates the servants and spurs them into action, restoring the bungalow to its former glory. Anand hires Geetha as the caretaker.

Anand confesses his love for Geetha, while Selvam reveals the fate of his own lover who is suffering from cancer and needs money for treatment. The revelations deepen Anand's empathy and commitment.

Moved by Selvam's plight, Anand vows to support the cancer-stricken lover and provides regular financial assistance for treatment. His generosity marks a shift from extravagance to responsibility.

Anand's heavy drinking leads to jaundice, and the doctor warns him against alcohol. Geetha stays with him day and night, aiding his recovery and persuading him to give up drinking.

Nagapillai announces that all creditors are demanding their dues and there is no money left to repay them. Anand realises his so-called friends won't help, and selling the mansion becomes the only option.

At Mani's brother's wedding, Anand is shocked to discover the bride is Selvam's lover. She confesses that Selvam is an acquaintance from her past and had used her to deceive Anand. Selvam defends his actions, blaming Anand's wasteful ways.

With the sale underway, Anand and Nagapillai move to the slums. Nagapillai's sudden demise pushes Anand back toward drinking, shattering any remaining faith in humanity and leaving him adrift.

Geetha helps him secure a job as an auto rickshaw driver, giving him a chance at a fresh start. The new work rekindles his hope and resilience, steering him away from despair.

Anand witnesses Selvam's ex-lover's suicide attempt and learns she has been shunned by her family because of her role in Selvam's scam. She reveals the consequences of Selvam's schemes, and Anand senses the depth of his friend's deceit.

Anand confronts Selvam's grand wedding plans and clashes with Selvam's goons. He publicly exposes Selvam's scam, prompting Selvam to reconsider his life and abandon the wedding schemes.

Selvam reforms and decides to marry his ex-lover, while Anand chooses to return to a simple life with Geetha. The two lovers settle into a modest, honest existence together.
