Vivian Vera’s downfall is the direct result of the countless sins she committed to climb the newsroom ladder. After the Cement Massacre exposé, a mysterious woman gives her a bracelet that awakens the spirits of the victims—ghosts covered in cement and mud that begin to haunt her every waking moment. The black cat she repeatedly sees, “Kitty Marie,” is the very animal she brutally killed and filmed to fabricate a sensational scoop that earns her a permanent job, a loan for her mother’s operation, and the admiration of her boss Sylvia.

The curse deepens when Vivian’s colleague Elaine discovers the fake video, confronts her, and is pushed into traffic, dying under a bus. Benjie, Vivian’s former best friend, witnesses the murder and knows she also slaughtered the cat; his guilt drives him to suicide, leaving his eye‑ball splattered on the floor. Later, a young archivist, Louise, uncovers the truth and publicly exposes Vivian, prompting Sylvia to suspend her and promote Louise.

When Ernesto Malugay, a perpetrator of the Cement Massacre, is released, Vivian is forced to interview him. Amanda, a grieving mother of one of the victims, insists he confess, but he refuses. During the interview Amanda shoots Ernesto and is herself arrested, revealing she had been the covert broker of the massacre and that the victims’ spiritual curse—initiated by her mother Teresa—targets anyone complicit in the tragedy, including Vivian and Benjie.

In the film’s climax, Vivian’s mother Monica appears at the construction site, but it is actually Teresa’s vengeful spirit manipulating Vivian’s mind. Terrified, Vivian falls from a high building while a colleague, Jasper, tries in vain to catch her. The fall does not kill her; instead she awakens as a hollow, emotion‑less “living ghost,” forever trapped between the world of the living and the realm of the cursed souls she helped silence. She watches, detached, as Louise takes over her segment, while Monica, oblivious to the supernatural torment, continues to praise her daughter as a future star.

The final scene shows the cursed bracelet lying on a table in Vivian’s family eatery, hinting that the spirits have not finished their retribution. Vivian’s fate is left as a lingering dread—she survives physically, but is condemned to a lifeless existence haunted by the very ghosts she once exploited for fame.
