TURTLE: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY chronicles the remarkable odyssey of a young loggerhead turtle as she embarks on a path paved by her ancestors, undertaking one of the most extraordinary migrations in the natural world.

Born on the sun-kissed shores of Florida, she begins her adventure by riding the Gulf Stream north towards the Arctic. Her journey takes her across the vast expanse of the North Atlantic, ultimately leading her all the way to Africa and back to the very beach where her life began. Yet, the challenges she faces are immense; the odds of survival stand at a daunting one in ten thousand for turtles making such a perilous trek.

Throughout her journey, she encounters a myriad of dangers: her siblings are tragically lost in the doldrums of the Sargasso Sea, she has harrowing encounters with deep-sea creatures, and narrowly escapes the clutches of fishermen looking for prey. While traveling northward, she inadvertently drifts off her intended path—leaving the warm embrace of the Gulf Stream and plunging into dangerously frigid waters.

Upon reaching the Azores, located on the opposite side of the Atlantic, she witnesses an awe-inspiring spectacle — the explosion of sperm whales and baitballs erupting from the ocean’s surface, marking the greatest celebration of life on Earth. However, beneath the surface, profound and alarming changes are threatening the delicate balance of the marine ecosystem; fish stocks are dwindling, sea levels are on the rise, and the critical birthing beaches for turtles face the risk of disappearing entirely.

As her instincts beckon her, she knows she must return to her birthplace. After a staggering 25 years of brave exploration and survival, she finally arrives back on the shores of Florida. Under a stunning blanket of stars, she emerges from the ocean to fulfill her destiny by laying her own eggs, thus continuing the Turtle’s Journey for future generations.
