Akshay Malvade [Emraan Hashmi] is an artist and a budding character designer who finds himself about to board a flight from Kottayam. Seated across from him is Sanjana Singhania [Soha Ali Khan], flanked by a businessman carrying the rough edge of a crowded market day — the curious swirl of chance brings their eyes together and flickers a memory that refuses to fade. What follows unfolds as a bridge between past and present, where a series of flashbacks reveals how their paths first crossed and why their bond feels fated.

In a distant Shanghai, Akshay is a struggling artist chasing a breakthrough, and Sanjana enters his world in a moment that feels electric. A brief, imperfect encounter leads to a spark: Sanjana tries to back out her car and, in a moment of mischief and carelessness, knocks into Akshay’s vehicle, leaving a note as a memento of that awkward first contact. A turning point comes when Akshay secures a potential opportunity in Bhopal. Sanjana cannot leave her job behind, and the distance tests their bond. The present day then returns with a stark contrast: Mumbai is battered by heavy rains, and the city fights to survive a devastating flood that reshapes daily life for everyone caught in the storm’s path. Amid the chaos, the couple’s memories of their earlier split resurface, and those recollections become a thread that ties their fates together.

In the flood’s wake, danger and endurance intertwine as Vicky is electrocuted after a fall into water that brushes against a live electrical line. The crisis brings Akshay and Sanjana back into close contact, forcing them to confront how their breakup years ago nearly tore them apart.
